Chen Huanping
Born in Jiangmen, Guangdong in 1994, and received her MFA from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 2025. The fluid use of multiple media continues to shape both her artistic practice and daily way of living. Her representative series include Listening Quietly to Soughing Pines, Mooring at Night, and Circulation.
Chen’s practice often begins with subtle moments drawn from everyday life—personal memories or fleeting impressions. These small yet persistent stimuli serve as anchors for her creative process: tangible objects, specific scenes, or lingering thoughts that intertwine unexpectedly. Through the deconstruction of forms and the reconfiguration of imagery, they emerge as visual expressions that are both fresh and quietly resonant.
Her paintings unfold like intimate diary entries, tracing the tension between emotion, perception, and instrumental rationality. The quiet presence of privacy lends her works a sense of warmth and closeness. Maintaining both longing and reverence toward the notion of artistic atmosphere, she explores with composure and expresses, in a gentle narrative manner, those ineffable dimensions of reason, experience, and feeling.
